The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.)

The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D) is a way of eating that is designed to address yeast, bacterial, and viral overgrowth in the body. The purpose of the diet is to boost the immune system by alkalizing the blood and restoring the inner ecosystem with friendly flora (probiotics) to support the body in once again becoming a self-healing organism.

The goal is not to completely eradicate the yeast, bacteria, or viruses. This would be impossible. But rather, to restore the natural strength of the body as a whole, so that it can work in harmony. The first step in restoring a healthy body ecology and reversing yeast, bacterial, or viral overgrowth is to starve out the pathogens and provide an inner ecosystem that is no longer suitable for them to survive in. This is achieved with a mineral and probiotic-rich diet that alkalizes the blood and recolonize the gut with friendly flora to help the body maintain correct pH with good digestion and elimination.

B.E.D. does not contain gluten, sugar, or yeast and utilizes traditional methods of preparation to ensure food that is easy-to-digest, nutrient dense, and probiotic-rich. Within a few short weeks of diligence you can expect to feel a significant shift in your health. This diet is not a fad, the underlying principles are thousands of years old and can be used your entire life…even passed down to your kids.

B.E.D. Support with Tara

I am a certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant (NC) and offer support sessions for The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.) by phone, Skype, or in-person at my Vermont office. With a rich background in gut health, I have personally practiced B.E.D. since 2011 to heal a systemic yeast overgrowth. My kids were 2 and 7 years old when I started this diet and both had digestive issues. I have been making unsalted cultured food and practicing food combining for many years now and know what it takes to put food on the table for a hungry family while moving through the diet myself.

Testimonials

Having followed many different eating regimes in the past, I am truly impressed with the profoundness of the Body Ecology Diet. It incorporates principles that have worked for me in the past (Blood Type Diet, Food Combining, Anti-Candida Diet), and takes it one step further. I consider B.E.D. a master eating plan for impeccable health. ~ Nancy

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos hypothyroid 3 yrs ago and refused to take medication. Instead I followed the BED and eliminated sugar and gluten and followed the recipes in the book…i.e. eggs, butter, quinoa, cultured vegetables, green smoothies for breakfast, soups, coconut kefir, etc. Over the course of 8 months my tsh dropped from 9 to 2 and the doctor doing my blood tests called when it reached 2 and said… whatever you’re doing keep doing it! ~ Alex
