Cinnamon Kisses Recipe for The Body Ecology Diet

Cinnamon-Kisses

These little kisses are easy to make and gluten, dairy, refined sugar free. They’re the perfect little something especially when you’re on The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D). I keep a stash in the freezer to nibble on when I crave something sweet. They also make a great treat for the lunchbox!

The sweeteners I use in this recipe are lakanto and stevia because neither influence blood sugar or feed harmful yeast/bacteria in the body. These are good sugar substitutes for anyone that is healing a yeast or bacterial health-related issue (i.e. GBS+, Candida). Lakanto is also safe for diabetics because it does not influence blood sugar and insulin release.

Cinnamon Kisses 

Makes: 15 perfect kisses ❤

Gluten, nut, refined sugar free.

Ingredients

1/2 cup ghee*

1/2 cup coconut oil, extra virgin and raw

1 Tbs lakanto or xylitol, grind to fine powder (optional for a touch sweeter)

1/2 Tbs cinnamon

1/2-1 tsp stevia powder

Dash of vanilla extract (alcohol/sugar free)

Pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. Gently heat ghee and coconut oil over very low heat until just melted.
  2. Combine the oils and all other ingred’s in a food processor or blender.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Allow mixture to sit for a few min. until it thickens up to a workable consistency (yet not too thick for a smooth result).
  5. Pour into a candy mold (i.e. Monamour heart silicone mold) or drop 2 teaspoons of mixture onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper to form a “kiss”.
  6. Refrigerate 20 minutes or until they have hardened.
  7. Store in refrigerator.

Tips

  • Mixture can be chilled in fridge and rolled by hand into balls to make truffles (work fast or mixture will melt in your hands).
  • Sprinkle kisses with ground almonds, shredded coconut, or cinnamon.
  • Sensitive to ghee? Use more coconut oil instead.
  • Perfect treat for anyone on B.E.D.

*Ghee is pure milk fat. Made properly, it contains little to no milk protein or lactose. This fat is generally tolerated by those with dairy issues. If ghee still bothers you, use all coconut oil.
