Bonbons for The Body Ecology Diet

These bonbons are perfect for those on The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.) or another gut healing protocol, like Paleo or GAPS. They do not contain gluten, refined sugar, or pasteurized dairy. ALL are yummy!

I created these recipes when my kids and I were transitioning into stage 1 and struggling with food sensitivities and limitations. The deeper we got with this new way of eating, the harder it was to find something sweet that tasted good and contained ingredients we were ‘allowed’ to eat.

When you are in the healing phase of B.E.D., you must avoid many foods for a short period of time in order to give your body the best chance at resetting/healing itself (a.k.a. homeostasis). If you cave in and eat something on the ‘avoid list’, you’ll likely pay later by feeling crappy. If you restrict yourself from food you really REALLY want, you’ll likely feel deprived or excluded from the fun.

That’s why I made these recipes and why I create most of my recipes …. I hope you like them. By the way, bonbons make a great lunchbox treat and even better stocking stuffers (pack in tiny boxes from party store) 🎁

* Limit or avoid food marked with (*) if you have diarrhea, abdominal pain, or bloating. In 6 weeks or so, you might be able to weave this food back in if you’re progressing and feeling better. Don’t rush the process; be patient. Stronger the health issue, longer the body takes to heal.
